This is an exciting year for Outdoor Design & Landscaping (ODL), as it will mark our 10th season in business. ODL is located in Brookings, SD and owned by Eric Deibert and Caleb Svartoien.  Eric graduated from South Dakota State University in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture and a Minor in Business.  After graduating he moved back home to Bridgewater, SD and worked at Brickhouse Gardens as a Landscape Designer and Installer. Their he would meet with clients, create designs, and install the design with the help of a couple of a crew. This was the first stepping stone in his landscape design career.  The creativity and adaptability designing outdoor living spaces fueled his vision of creating more designs and challenging himself with more larger scale projects. This changed his course back to Brookings, where he began building Outdoor Design & Landscaping with business partner Caleb Svartieon.  ​ Caleb also attended and graduated from SDSU in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in business. After graduation, Caleb stayed in Brookings where he dispatched for his family business and got his real estate license. When deciding to start ODL, it seemed like a perfect match as Eric took care of the landscaping and design side of the business and Caleb took care of the business side. ​ We started Outdoor Design & Landscaping the spring of 2014 and Outdoor Pool Works in 2023. ODL prides themselves on taking outdoor areas and turning them into custom outdoor living spaces and landscapes.  Our team custom designs and builds each and every landscape we do.  Over the years we have educated our designers on 3D design software and computer knowledge to help build this business into what it is today.
